Oliver is a 'team player'

Find out about a Scout three-star tight end and his relationship with Tennessee coaches, plus the prospect's thoughts on his senior season in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Kyle Oliver 's senior season didn't start out the way he and his Oakland (Tenn.) High School teammates would have liked, losing to a District 7-AAA rival 28-21 on Sunday.

In that scary-hot contest, Oliver lined up out wide, put his hand on the ground next to Patriots offensive tackles and even logged time on defense as an end.

The Scout three-star isn't ready to throw in the towel just yet.

The No. 33-ranked tight end in the nation gave his verbal commitment to the Volunteers on June 22, not long after receiving his scholarship offer.

Oliver is teammates at Oakland (Tenn.) High School with Scout four-star offensive lineman and fellow Vols commit Jack Jones.
