Introduction: Cade Mays

Yet another son of a former Tennessee Volunteer has the ability to play college football...and coach Butch Jones is interested.

Driver's license? Nope.

Class schedule for first semester of high school? Negative.

Tried on pads to find the proper fit for first high-school camp workouts? Not even.

Scholarship from Southeastern Conference university? Best believe it.

Every once in awhile putting the cart before the horse makes sense.

Cade Mays has four years of football to play at Knoxville Catholic High School but already has a scholarship offer from Tennessee and is getting interest from Clemson, Duke and Florida State.

At 6-feet-5, 290 pounds he has advanced size for a prep freshman. As the son of former Vol and All-SEC lineman Kevin Mays, he has a base of knowledge to block defenders beyond most other teenagers.
