Gallery: Vols do the unthinkable in Columbia

Going on the road in the Southeastern Conference and returning home with a victory is no simple task.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Coach Butch Jones had black streaks all over his face Saturday night. The cause? Embracing his Tennessee players who wore eye black during the Big Orange's stunning 45-42 overtime win over South Carolina.

The victory pushes the Volunteers to 4-5 overall and 1-4 in the Southeastern Conference. The Gamecocks dropped to 4-5 and 2-5.

Tennessee used an offense that put up 344 yards rushing and 301 through the air to pull off the upset after trailing by 14 points with less than 5 minutes to go in the fourth quarter.

Freshman kicker Aaron Medley's field goal from 32 yards out proved to be the game-winning points.
