Road Trip: Scouting Higgins, Middleton

The staff at InsideTennessee doesn't stay home with college football prospects on display under the Friday night lights. Check out this report from two of the top prep players in East Tennessee.

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — Tee Higgins is a name worth knowing.

The Oak Ridge (Tenn.) High School sophomore is a wide receiver that already boasts scholarship offers from the likes of Clemson, Georgia, LSU and Tennessee.

After pulling in three catches for 55 yards with a touchdown in a TSSAA Class 5A playoffs first-round win over Soddy-Daisy, Higgins contributed again in the second round. His second-quarter reception Friday night set up the Wildcats' go-ahead touchdown in a 10-6 victory over Cleveland.

Oak Ridge (12-0) advances to play Rhea County in the 5A quarterfinals.

Darel Middleton, a former Tennessee commit from the 2016 signing class, is in his first year with the Wildcats after transferring from Powell High School. The Scout three-star prospect primarily plays defensive tackle and tight end for Oak Ridge.
