The future on Friday: Nov. 14th edition

Team 119’s freshmen went 16-5 on Friday night. See, stats, notes and more from the 21 players that took the field for playoffs for each of their respective teams.

Vincent Perry (Hillsboro HS, Nashville) 3-Star RB
The Boros won their second round game of the TSSAA playoffs by a resounding 34 points on Friday night. Vincent Perry, to no one’s surprise played a huge role in Hillsboro’s defeat of Springfield. The star running back carried the ball 173 yards and scored three touchdowns. Hillsboro will take on Shelbyville Central thanks to the wild ending they had with Beech High School, which you can read about below.

Riley Lovingood 2-Star LS (Beech High School, Tennessee)
Riley Lovingood is out with an MCL injury but his Buccaneers participated in one of the best playoff games in Tennessee High School football history. Unfortunately for Lovingood and his teammates they were on the wrong end of a 42-41 double overtime thriller. As you can see in the video below, Beech decided to go for two in the second overtime but the conversion attempt failed.

Quinten Dormady 3-star QB (Boerne, Texas)
Good news: Quinten Dormady can now focus his attention on getting ready for next season as a Volunteer. That’s because the bad news is that he has taken his last snap as a Boerne High School Greyhound. The senior quarterback threw for three touchdowns and 230 yards on 43 throws but was also picked off twice. The Greyhounds finish the season 8-3 following the 45-21 loss to Robinson High School.

Jauan Jennings 3-Star ATH (Blackman, Tennessee)
Blackman took a 34-7 lead into the locker room and cruised past Riverdale 48-21 on Friday’s playoff contest. Jennings was 8-of-17 for 174 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed for 55-yards and a score. It sets up a huge rematch of a game that aired on ESPN earlier in the season when the Blaze host Oakland on Friday. In a game that will have a much different game temperature, the winner will advance to the semi-finals of the Class 6A TSSAA playoffs. Highlights of the game are here:

Andrew Butcher 3-star DE (Alpharetta High School, Georgia)
Andrew Butcher’s Raiders won an exciting one on Friday as they held off a Cherokee High School fourth quarter comeback. Butcher collected three sacks in the last two Cherokee drives. Quay Picou and Austin Smith (Buford High School, Georgia)
Again, having a 3-star defensive tackle and a 3-star linebacker pays-off as Buford High School did not allow a single point for the second straight week. The number two ranked team in the state of Georgia, with two Volunteer commits, improved to 12-0 and advanced in the GHSA Class 4-A playoffs with a 63-0 win over Southeast Whitfield County. They will advance to the quarterfinals if they can get past 9-2 Mary Persons.
