On one side of the football, the Tennessee defense looked dominant with players like safety Todd Kelly Jr. having their best performance of the nine spring practices. On the other side, the Volunteers offense lacked concentration and struggled mightily to move the chains.
Kelly as well as Kendal Vickers were singled out by coach Butch Jones. Vickers continues to take full advantage of an impressive number of practice reps due to injuries to teammates.
The action taking place during the second scrimmage at Neyland Stadium in Knoxville wasn't the only news Saturday.
Former Tennessee All-America and current Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry and father James Berry were two of numerous visitors on hand for a "Family Day" that included a large group picture and a barbecue. Over 300 high school coaches looked on as part of a clinic as well.
