CHARLOTTE, N.C. — It doesn't take long watching DeAngelo Gibbs compete to realize his immense potential.
The nephew of former Tennessee All-American Dale Carter has more than enough talent to one day reach the National Football League. Coaching staffs from all over the country agree as Gibbs owns nearly 30 scholarship offers with two years in the prep ranks still to play.
At 6-feet-2, 191 pounds with sub 4.6 speed in the 40-yard dash, has traits that will make him effective on the next level on either side of the football.
On Saturday, the Peachtree Ridge (Ga.) High School sophomore chose to work out as a defensive back. Tennessee coaches told the Scout five-star prospect that he can play whichever position he chooses if he signs with the Vols.
