McALESTER, Okla. — Will Heflin burst onto the recruiting scene with a productive performance against several highly respected hitting prospects late last October.
Tennessee was in attendance to see the left-handed pitcher mow down the big-time bats and couldn't wait any longer on coming for with a scholarship offer. The result was a verbal commitment from Heflin less than a month later.
The one-time East Tennessee State commit threw over 50 innings his sophomore season at Morristown West High School, which is the same program that produced Tennessee two-way talent Andrew Lee.
