BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Even in the modern-day world of college football recruiting where top high-school football prospects find themselves earning scholarship offers before receiving their driver's licenses, it's rare to find the type of attention that Camron Johnson has received.
Before taking one snap during his sophomore season at Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy, the wide receiver picked up offers from Southeastern Conference schools Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. The first of those came from the staff in Knoxville.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder helped the Eagles defeat Pope John Paul II 49-7 on Friday, catching three passes and playing safety.
Johnson plans to be back on Neyland Stadium to see the Big Orange take on Oklahoma on Saturday.
