SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. — Tee Higgins is an offensive weapon worth the price of admission.
The Oak Ridge (Tenn.) High School wide receiver is Scout's No. 37 player in the 2017 class and the No. 1-rated junior receiver in the Volunteer State. The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder gave coach Butch Jones and the Tennessee staff his commitment on Aug. 24.
On Thursday night, Higgins scored on an interception return and a 9-yard reception to give his Wildcats an early advantage in a victory over Sevier County High School.
Sevier County quarterback Deuce Wallace is on his way to the Southeastern Conference too as a Vanderbilt commitment. Smoky Bears running back Dorian Banks is a one-time Vols commit who re-opened his recruitment and is considering Middle Tennessee and Kentucky, among others.
Higgins' largest teammate on the Oak Ridge offense is Darel Middleton, who was pledged to the Big Orange at one time as well and has shown strong interest in Arizona State.
