CARTERSVILLE, Ga. — Trevor Lawrence is no stranger to college interest, attention and interviews.
The Scout five-star prospect grew up less than 2 hours east of Neyland Stadium in Knoxville but that doesn't mean he's a slam dunk to join the Volunteers, who have offensive coordinator Mike DeBord communicating with the standout consistently.
InsideTennessee saw Lawrence complete 29 of 20 passes for 285 yards with four touchdowns and another TD on the ground. That performance led to Cartersville dominating Gilmer 51-6.
On Friday, Lawrence was 11-of-20 passing for 211 yards with a touchdown and an interceptions. The sophomore carried the football for 23 yards, including two more scores. The Hurricanes are now 5-0 and make on Ridgeland this Friday.
