'Bama, Michigan, Miss. State pursuing Tennessee legacy

Chase Hayden is the son of former Tennessee running back Aaron Hayden, however, several schools are after the Scout three-star prospect from the 2017 class.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Chase Hayden grew up a Tennessee fan. But that doesn't mean he's going to wind up a Volunteer.

The 5-foot-10, 169-pounder continues to hear from the likes of Michigan, Mississippi State and Vanderbilt along with the Volunteers.

The Scout three-star prospect earned the Tennessee Titans TSSAA Div. II Class A Mr. Football Back of the Year. On Thursday, he and his teammates take on Northpoint Christian in a state championship at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville on Thursday afternoon at 3 Central.

The St. George's junior needed just 153 attempts to run for 2,003 yards and 24 touchdowns. Showing his ability out of the backfield, Hayden caught 12 passes for 194 yards and four more scores. On defense, Hayden registered 42 tackles and two interceptions.
