COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Camron Johnson got the football in a variety of ways Thursday night. It was his final touch that he will remember forever.
The Brentwood Academy wide receiver caught the game-winning two-point conversion to give the Eagles a 56-55 double-overtime win over Montgomery Bell Academy in the TSSAA Div. II Class AA state championship.
The sophomore totaled eight catches for 124 yards, four kickoff returns for 72 yards and three rushes for 63 yards, including a 22-yard scamper to paydirt.
Tennessee was one of the first schools to get in on Johnson and the Vols issued the 2018 class talent a scholarship offer during his his freshman year.
