Vols QB target Emory Jones names a leader

The Tennessee coaches continue to have an eye toward the future. See what a Georgia-based signal-caller said about the Volunteers.

BUFORD, Ga. — Emory Jones has an idea of where he will take his talents for college.

It's extremely early in the process for the Heard County (Ga.) High School sophomore but the quarterback's time in Knoxville around coach Butch Jones, offensive coordinator Mike DeBord and quality control assistant Nick Sheridan has paid off.

“Tennessee is probably my leader, and I connect with Tennessee real well,” Jones told InsideTennessee. “I love coach Jones, coach Sheridan and coach DeBord. I talk with them a lot.”

Jones recently spent time on Rocky Top, taking part in a junior day March 5.

“They talked to me a lot. I mean I talked to them the whole time. I love the campus. I love all the coaches,” Jones said.
