Vols legacy Chase Hayden close to college decision

Chase Hayden's father Aaron Hayden played football at Tennessee in the 1990s. Will the running back from Collierville follow in his footsteps?

BEAVERTON, Ore. — Chase Hayden has a major decision coming soon.

Will the Scout No. 3-rated running back in the Volunteer State's 2017 class stay closer to home or venture off for college.

Hayden told InsideTennessee that Arkansas, Michigan, Missouri, Oklahoma State, South Carolina and Tennessee recruit him the hardest with the last time he was on Rocky Top being the Orange & White game at Neyland Stadium in April.

The Scout three-star prospect soon will set a date for a declaration with a commitment likely coming before Hayden’s senior season at St. George’s Independent School in Collierville, Tennessee.

The schools expected to land an official visit from the back include Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma State, South Carolina and Tennessee.
