Devanté Brooks went through as much his final two years of high school as any player Tennessee has signed in recent years.
The 6-foot-5, 255-pound tight end tore an anterior cruciate ligament before both his junior and senior seasons at St. Johns College High School in Washington, D.C., ever got heated up.
Butch Jones and his staff saw something in Brooks with his length and size and signed the Scout three-star prospect as part of a 2016 class that rated as one of the 20 best in the nation.
Brooks continues to work off the rust and get his way into football shape, grinding away with the other Vols tight ends this August. See him at work on Haslam Field in Knoxville by viewing the video above.
