Vols dismantle Gators, end 11-year rut

A 21-point deficit in the first half of the Tennessee-Florida face-off might have raised the blood pressure of some Vols’ fans.

But just like we have seen in previous games this season, rest assured Big Orange had the momentum to make a major comeback in the second half, combating the Gators with a final game score of 38-28 to end to an 11-year losing streak that cursed Big Orange fans for over a decade.

And as Tennessee head coach Butch Jones explained to the media in a post-game interview, the turn-around point occurred when Team 120 entered the locker room and decided they needed to play more “passionately” than “emotionally.” Players like Derek Barnett, Alvin Kamara, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin to name a few stepped up majorly in their leadership roles to help shut-down the Gators in Neyland Stadium on Saturday night.
