IR: Vols fight but drop 2OT thriller at A&M

The fifth-longest winning streak in Tennessee history is no more.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — No. 9 Tennessee overcame injuries and turnovers versus No. 8 Texas A&M but fell 45-38 in double overtime on Saturday night.

"It's the small details," Tennessee coach Butch Jones said. "You can't turn the ball over."

The loss is the Volunteers' first of the season and snaps their 11-game winning streak. They lost six fumbles and threw two interceptions.

"I love our players, and I love our football team," Jones said.
