COLUMBIA, S.C. — Tennessee's worst effort of the season resulted in a 24-21 loss at the hands of home standing South Carolina on Saturday night.

The loss dropped Tennessee to 5-3 on the season and its series record versus the Gamecocks to 25-8-2. It was South Carolina's first victory over the big Orange since a 38-35 win in 2012.

Running back Jalen Hurd's 16 yards placed him at sixth all-time in Tennessee's rushing yardage list, replacing Cedric Houston.

Antioch native Derek Barnet registered three sacks to give him 29 in his Vols career, which is second in program history, trailing only Reggie White (32) and ahead of Leonard Little (28).
