A week to be remembered for Eric Gray

Eric Gray and the Lausanne Lynx have hardware they're gonna want to make room for in the trophy case in Memphis.

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — It was the week that was for Eric Gray.

The Lausanne Collegiate School sophomore running back helped the Lynx to the TSSAA Division II Class A state championship on Thursday with a 12-9 win over Webb Knoxville at Tucker Stadium. Gray’s 5-yard scoring run gave Lausanne the winning points with 2:35 left to play.

That came just three days after a prestigious individual honor.

The 5-foot-9, 175-pounder ran the football 181 times for 1,654 yards with 30 touchdowns. He also caught nine passes for 185 yards and four more scores. That production led to Gray being named the Tennessee Titans TSSAA Division II Class A Mr. Football Back of the Year on Monday.
