Greenback's Kayne Roberts turns the page

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Kayne Roberts is one of East Tennessee’s premier football players in Class A in modern history. The numbers don’t lie for the TSSAA Mr. Football Back of the Year finalist.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound running back and defensive back started for Greenback for three years and was a team captain. In 2016, he ran 136 times for 1,660 yards with 30 touchdowns. He also had 10 receptions for 256 yards and four TDs.

Schools with scholarship offers on the table include Army, Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb and Tennessee Tech. But, would Roberts be willing to walk on at a Power 5 school with the hopes of earning a scholarship later?

See Roberts’ answer, plus more on his career at Greenback, upcoming plans in the InsideTennessee video above.
