COOKEVILLE, Tenn. — Jacob Warren has the length and pass-catching ability to warrant Power 5 scholarship offers.
Add “comes through in the clutch” to the list of attractive attributes to the list for the Farragut (Tenn.) High School junior tight end.
Farragut fell behind Independence 35-7 with less than three minutes to play in the first half of the TSSAA Class 5A state championship on Friday. Things looked dark and gloomy against the No. 1-ranked Eagles, who entered with a 29-game winning streak.
Farragut stormed back and it was Warren’s 10-yard touchdown reception on the first snap of the fourth quarter that tied the game at 35-all. The Admirals tacked on from there and took home the gold ball with a 45-35 victory.
Warren finished his junior finale with four catches for 53 yards and the score.
