Within her first two weeks as chancellor of the University of Tennessee, Dr. Beverly Davenport announced John Curry as new vice chancellor and athletic director on Feb. 28. Tennessee welcome the new AD at Thompson-Boling Arena on Thursday.

Prior to his successful 8-year tenure at Kansas State, Currie received his master's degree at Tennessee, where he served as the executive associate athletic director from 1997-2009. The Orange & White graduate expressed his excitement to return to Knoxville and expand excellence across the student-athletes, both academically and athletically.

"As a gradate of the University of Tennessee, i know how much UT athletics means to the people in the state, and I look forward to serving all of the Big Orange Nation, its wonderful coaches, staff and student-athletes, for many years to come. We are excited to return to Rocky Top."
