Butch Jones' first recruiting class at Tennessee wasn't his first or even second best since his arrival in December 2012 but there could be 6-7 National Football League Draft selections of Volunteers in April.
"I think that tells you everything right there that, 'Hey, this is the way it should be,'" Tennessee director of player personnel Bob Welton told IT. "The roster has been strong. The roster is strong. Now the key is replacing those people. You know, let's face it, these guys are gone and now it's time to replace them and see where the next batches of Jalen Reeves-Maybins and Alvin Kamaras and Cam Suttons are."
Aside from Kamara, Reeves-Maybin and Sutton, other former Tennessee standouts like defensive end Derek Barnett, quarterback Joshua Dobbs and wide receiver Josh Malone stand the greatest chance of hearing their name called April 27-29 in Philadelphia. All this comes after consecutive years of no former Volunteer hearing their name called, which had never before happened in program history.
