Nashville's Jackson Lampley keeping his options open

Jackson Lampley is zeroing in on having scholarship offers from half the Southeastern Conference. See what the Nashville-based offensive lineman said about this recruitment and contending with talented defenders at The Opening Charlotte.

MATTHEWS, N.C. — Jackson Lampley and Tennessee offensive line coach Walt Wells are at work getting to know one another.

If the offensive lineman is going to continue giving the Volunteers strong consideration, it will be due in part to developing a relationship with Wells. Lampley has made several trips to Knoxville, including being part of an invite-only junior day in early March.

"I really like them a lot, and it's great to get up there a bunch and just kind of see (Wells') coaching style and everything," Lampley told InsideTennessee on Sunday. "But I really like him and the rest of the team."

A verbal commitment could come from the son of former Tennessee lineman Brad Lampley during Summer 2018, but he is "keeping my options open." The Nashville native's most recent scholarship offers came from Auburn and Vanderbilt.

The Montgomery Bell Academy sophomore provided a breakdown of his competing at The Opening Charlotte, adding offers from Southeastern Conference programs, college games this fall worth watching and more in the exclusive video interview with InsideTennessee above.
