IT 'experts' pick the SEC games

Our resident experts were a combined 13-1 last week. So, as ballpark hot dog vendors are fond of saying, ''Get 'em while they're hot.''

Jeffery Stewart's SEC picks

OLE MISS AT FLORIDA: Eli's coming to Gainesville. Unfortunately, so is an Ole Miss defense that looks weaker by the week. Chris Leak should light it up on Saturday. Florida 47, Ole Miss 27.

VANDERBILT AT MISS. STATE: The price for admission to this stinker should include a clothes pin and a blindfold. I once believed no SEC team could surpass Vanderbilt when it comes to incompetence but this Bulldog squad may be bad enough to change my mind. In truth, MSU has more talent than the Dores which means coach Jackie Sherrill is accomplishing less with it. Sure the game is in Starkville, but any SEC team that can lose consecutive road games to Tulane and Houston can certainly lose at home to Vandy. Vanderbilt 30, Mississippi State 27.

ALABAMA AT GEORGIA: Alabama is in a tailspin and Georgia is still stinging from a loss two weeks ago to LSU. That's a bad combination for the Crimson Tide, although Bama does have the material to make this one interesting. Georgia 34, Alabama 24.

TENNESSEE AT AUBURN: A big contest for both teams in what looks to be an even match-up on paper. I like UT's edge with Casey Clausen at quarterback and feel he will test Auburn's defense more than it has been tested this season. The game is critical to save Auburn's season especially in light of upcoming road games at Arkansas and LSU. Tommy Tubberville hasn't performed well in these situations while Fulmer has kept his team dialed in for road challenges. Tennessee 19, Auburn 10.

Randy Moore's SEC picks

OLE MISS AT FLORIDA: Gator QB Chris Leak's got to be drooling at the prospect of facing the Rebels' porous pass defense. Who wouldn't be? FLorida 45, Ole Miss 21.

VANDERBILT AT MISS. STATE: The SEC's two worst teams are a combined 1-8, Vandy owning a win over UT-Chattanooga. The game's in Starkville, however, which gives the Bulldogs a slight edge. Mississippi State 34, Vanderbilt 27.

ALABAMA AT GEORGIA: Alabama has lost two in a row (Northern Illinois and Arkansas) and likely to make it three straight Saturday in Athens. Georgia 24, Bama 17.

TENNESSEE AT AUBURN: Tigers have the homefield advantage but the Vols played their best game to date at Florida. Just call 'em the Road Warriors. Tennessee 20, Auburn 14.
