IT Anaylsts Aim to Improve

Our pickers took some lumps last weekend but that didn't stop them from taking another crack at prognosticating greatness this week. Here's the SEC slate and our take on the outcomes.

JEFFERY STEWART'S SEC PICKS

ALABAMA AT OLE MISS: After putting together impressive back-to-back victories, the Rebels host a Bama team in need of a win. The Crimson Tide's best hopes lie with quarterback Brodie Croyle who is suffering from a separated left shoulder. I'll go with a healthy Eli Manning and a Mississippi squad that has resurrected its season. Ole Miss 27, Alabama 20

FLORIDA AT ARKANSAS: Florida is coming off a big victory at LSU while the Razor Pigs are coming off a disappointing home defeat to Auburn. I don't look for a repeat of either performance. Arkansas 24, Florida 21.

MISSISSIPPI STATE AT AUBURN: The Bulldogs are catching the Tigers at the right time (after hard earned victories over Tennessee and Arkansas and before a tough road contest at LSU) but at the wrong place to pull an upset. Auburn 37, MSU 17.

GEORGIA AT VANDERBILT: This has all the makings of a classic mismatch, but Georgia's game last Saturday against Tennessee had all the earmarks of a classic SEC battle. Look for this contest to live up to its billing with the Bulldogs rounding into midseason form. Georgia 44, Vanderbilt 10.

OHIO U AT KENTUCKY: A border war between SEC and MAC pack chasers. MAC teams have proven themselves to be worthy foes this season and Kentucky can't afford to overlook anyone. I like Kentucky against a team it should be able to handle. Kentucky 31, Ohio 16

LSU AT SOUTH CAROLINA: Florida didn't do Gamecocks any favors by beating them to the wake-up call. Tigers got the message and Saban will have his team ready for what figures to be a hard-fought, low-scoring contest. LSU 23, South Carolina 17

RANDY MOORE'S SEC PICKS

ALABAMA AT OLE MISS: If quarterback Brodie Croyle (separated shoulder) can't go, Alabama's in trouble. Even if Croyle can play, he probably won't be anywhere near 100 percent. That's why I like the Rebels' chances. Ole Miss 20, Alabama 17.

FLORIDA AT ARKANSAS: In the past two weeks the Gators were bad enough to lose at home vs. Ole Miss but good enough to win on the road vs. LSU. WhichFlorida team will show this weekend? I don't know but I think Houston Nutt will have the Hogs ready to bounce back after last weekend's loss to Auburn. Arkansas 24, Florida 17.

MISSISSIPPI STATE AT AUBURN: This is not a good time to catch Tommy Tuberville's team. Conversely, ANY TIME is a good time to face Jackie Sherrill's bunch. Auburn 38, Mississippi State 14.

GEORGIA AT VANDERBILT: Georgia is the SEC's best team and Vanderbilt is the SEC's worst team. After an emotional defeat of Tennessee, however, the Dawgs could be flat. This might not be as big a blowout as you think. Georgia 31, Vandy 14.

OHIO U AT KENTUCKY: Even if Jared Lorenzen's still suffering from last week's concussion, the Wildcats are almost as effective with backup QB Shane Boyd behind center. Kentucky 38, Ohio 14.

LSU AT SOUTH CAROLINA: LSU is coming off an upset loss on its home field to Florida, so the Tigers might be really motivated or really flat this weekend. That makes this one a tough call. LSU 17, South Carolina 14.
