Vols add another Football Commitment

It was a busy end of the week for the Tennessee Volunteers on the recruiting front. Memphis safety Ellix Wilson made a commitment, and the Vols dipped down into the Bayou State to pick up their second commitment of the week.

Watching the Tennessee/Alabama game, Todd Blackledge made mention that Tennessee had not completed a pass to a tight end this season. That should change early next year as Chris Brown of Jesuit High School in New Orleans has made a commitment to the Vols.

"I committed to Tennessee this week," said Brown. "That's kind of been a lifelong dream for me. I always wanted to go to a big school. Tennessee came down to see me. They came to one of my practices and watched one of my game tapes. I got the offer and committed to them. I know that Tennessee likes to throw the ball to the tight end a lot, and they haven't really been able to do that this year."

Brown is a receiving tight end that will pose a big target for the Tennessee quarterback next season. At 6-3 and 235 pounds with 4.6 speed, Brown has helped lead his Jesuit team to a 7-1 record with 20 catches for 430 yards and three touchdowns.

Brown was a standout at camps this summer at LSU, Tulane, and Florida, and he chose Tennessee over offers from those three schools plus Indiana.
