Monday Practice Report

The most notable absence from Monday's practice was head coach Phillip Fulmer. Fulmer was reportedly with his wife, Vicki, who was undergoing surgery. Although, the surgery was not said to be serious, no timetable was given for Fulmer's return.

Other than that, the Vols were playing with a full deck of players acording to defensive coordinator John Chavis. "We don't have anyone right now that's going to be out that I know of," Chavis said.

Chavis also confirmed that true freshman offensive tackle Arron Sears was supposed to practice during Monday's work-out. Sears has been battling an ankle injury for the past few days.

Even though Tennessee practiced, the team gave the practice field a rest on Monday. For the first time since the pre-season, the Vols practiced in Neyland Stadium.

Senior three-way player Mark Jones was named SEC special teams player of the week on Monday. Jones returned a punt 58 yards for a touchdown on Saturday against Vanderbilt. In all, Jones had 216 all purpose yards. 120 of those came on 5 punt returns.
