Ja'Kouri likes Auburn, too

Tennessee's shot at a superstar running back just got a little more complicated.

Ja'Kouri Williams, who was believed to be deciding between Tennessee and Michigan, has added a third school to his list of finalists.

''I like three teams right now -- Auburn, Michigan and Tennessee," Williams told Scott Kennedy of The Insiders Network. ''I'm wide open with those three. Coach (Tommy) Tuberville was in for a visit on Sunday. Coach (Lloyd) Carr is coming by on Thursday, and Coach Fulmer is going to be here on Wednesday.''

Asked if he is getting closer to making a decision, Williams replied: ''Not really. I'm pretty torn between those three schools.''

Williams, a 5-11, 190-pound Louisiana native with 4.4 speed, will be making his official visit to Auburn Jan. 23. He already visited Michigan and Tennessee.

Tennessee is desperate for a game-breaking running back. Cedrick Houston and Jabari Davis are rising seniors who did not show big-play ability in 2003. Gerald Riggs, Jr., is a rising junior who has spent most of his career in Fulmer's doghouse due to assorted academic and disciplinary problems.

The Vols signed just one tailback prospect last February, sleeper Antonio Gaines of Covington. He redshirted in 2003 and he may wind up playing in the secondary.
