Holbert down to four

Tennessee recently moved a bit closer to signing one of the top college football prospects in the state.

David Holbert, standout fullback/linebacker at Brentwood Academy, scratched last weekend's scheduled visit to Oklahoma State -- which had been one of his five finalists.

''I cancelled,'' Holbert said. ''I've eliminated Oklahoma State, and it is down to Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, and Florida.''

Fullback is a key recruiting need for Tennessee this year. Two-year starter Troy Fleming is out of eligibility. Two more fullbacks -- Aaron Kirkland and Ruben Mayes -- left the program in the past year. As a result, the Vols have only one scholarship fullback on their roster, rising junior Will Revill.
