Brohm's Decision Due Within Next Week

The Brian Brohm sweepstakes, which has captivated Tennessee fans since before signing day 2003, appears to reaching it's long-awaited conclusion with four teams still in contention.

Recent stories that Nebraska behind new head coach Bill Callahan was a late entry in the coveted QB chase appeared to have been exaggerated, while Louisville, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Kentucky remain in the picture.

"I'd talk to him and see what he has to say," Brohm said of Callahan. "But right now I'm down to the same four schools I've been down to in Notre Dame, Kentucky, Louisville, and Tennessee."

There's also a chance Brian Brohm will take a fifth visit to Illnois this weekend, but he seems to be leaning toward announcing a decision in the next seven days.

"Probably within the next week," Brohm responded when asked to set a time frame for his announcement.

Brohm has yet to name a favorite but Louisville would appear to have the inside track. His father and two brothers played there and one of his brothers is the Cardinals current quarterback coach. At No. 6 in TheInsiders latest rankings, Brohm is the highest rated signal caller left on UT's board. His commitment would be a boost to UT's season but current conjecture centers on Louisville as being the eventual winner.
