Top prospects collide

The future of Tennessee's basketball program may have been on display Tuesday night in Nashville as Giles County nipped Brentwood Academy 59-57 in high school hoops action.

Each team features a blue-chip prospect who could elevate the Vols to top-25 status.

Tyler Smith, a 6-7 small forward ranked among the top 10 juniors in America, scored 21 points to pace Giles County. Brandon Wright, a 6-8 power forward ranked among the top five sophomores in the country, hit 9 of 11 field goal tries and finished with 20 points and 7 blocked shots for Brentwood.

The interested spectators included Louisville head coach Rick Pitino.

Giles County and Brentwood Academy meet again Jan. 27.
