Buzz sees Tyler score 28

Vol basketball coach Buzz Peterson was in the mid-state area Tuesday night, where he saw two of America's premier high school underclassmen go head-to-head.

Tyler Smith scored 28 points in leading Giles County (Pulaski) to a 72-70 defeat of Brentwood Academy. Smith, a 6-6 small forward, is ranked among the country's top 10 juniors. Widely regarded as UT's No. 1 recruiting target, he is believed to be leaning to Tennessee.

Brandon Wright, a 6-8 power forward ranked among the nation's top five sophomores, scored 29 points for Brentwood. Wright reportedly does not list UT among the four colleges he currently considers his favorites.

The two teams met two weeks earlier, and Giles County won that one 59-57. Smith scored 21 points that time, Wright 20.
