Brooks, a 5-11, 160-pounder, recently clocked a sub-4.3 forty at a winter combine. That caught the attention of several schools, including UT, Memphis and Ole Miss.
''Right now my top five is LSU, Ohio State, Michigan State, USC and Tennessee,'' Brooks told Scott Kennedy of TheInsiders.com. ''LSU was my favorite team growing up. I try to compare my game to Skyler Green. He's a utility guy that does it all.''
Brooks looks like a natural-born cornerback, and plays like one, too. He registered 93 tackles and six interceptions for Istrouma last fall.
Tennessee lost three starters from its 2003 secondary - safeties Rashad Baker and Gibril Wilson, plus cornerback Jabari Greer. The Vols also must replace nickel back Mark Jones. Given the heavy losses in the defensive backfield, it's a safe bet the Big Orange will take a long look at playerblessed with Brooks' speed and skills.
