Tennessee reportedly has offered a scholarship to a talented tight end/defensive end prospect from neighboring North Carolina.
is a 6-4, 235-pound junior from Beddingfield High of Wilson, N.C. He registered 24 catches for 400 yards last fall. Because teams ran away from him when he played end, he spent most of the season at middle linebacker, recording 110 tackles and 8 sacks en route to all-state recognition.
Duke offered a scholarship early on, and now UT reportedly has come through with another.
"It's going great right now,'' Brown told Miller Safrit of TheInsiders.com. ''I received my second offer yesterday from the University of Tennessee.''
Brown, who also lists North Carolina State, Georgia and Miami in his top five, isn't likely to commit anytime soon, however.
''Right now, I'm in the process of looking at all my options,'' he said. ''I'm going to the camps this summer, and after that I'll start to look into the different schools.''
Brown reportedly runs a 4.7 in the 40 and apparently has major college potential on both sides of the scrimmage line.
