Lanky DB likes Big Orange

A rangy defensive back lists Tennessee among his top three schools.

Michael Schwindel is a 6-3, 200-pound safety prospect from Hancock County High School of Lewisport, Ky. He already has been offered a scholarship by the University of Kentucky and will attend Louisville's Junior Day this Saturday.

Schwindel, who earned second-team all-state recognition as a junior, lists UK, Louisville and the Big Orange as his favorites at this time.

''Right now I am pretty open between those three,'' Schwindel told Michael McCammon of ''I probably get stuff from Kentucky the most, and they offered me a scholarship a few weeks ago.''

Tennessee is searching high and low for safety help after losing three of its top four safeties from the 2003 team -- starters Gibril Wilson and Rashad Baker, plus nickel back Mark Jones.
