UT is his 'dream school'

One of the Midwest's better quarterbacks loves the University of Tennessee.

Tyler Horner is a 6-3, 180-pound junior at Northmont High of Clayton, Ohio. He has not yet received any scholarship offers but he already has a favorite university.

''My dream school is Tennessee,'' he told Dave Biddle of Bucknuts.com. ''They've always kind of been my favorite. I also like Miami of Ohio, Purdue, Ohio State and Marshall.''

Horner said he plans to attend ''a bunch of camps'' this summer.

Tennessee signed two prep quarterbacks in February (Erik Ainge of Hillsborough, Ore. and Brent Schaeffer of Deerfield Beach, Fla.). The Vols are in the lead for Jonathan Crompton of Waynesville, N.C., who might be the No. 1 quarterback in the signing class of 2005.

If the Big Orange hangs onto Crompton, it probably will not sign another quarterback in '05.
