Fireplug considering UT

Brian Truelove is a 6-2, 265-pounder from Brookwood High of Snellville, Ga., who recorded 46 tackles and  3 1/2 sacks as a junior last fall. Tabbed first-team all-county in 2003, he is just as adept on the offensive line.

''Iowa, Illinois, and Maryland are my top three,'' Truelove told Andrew Friedman of TheInsiders.com. ''I also like Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Auburn.''

He's also fond of Nebraska, although the Cornhuskers' interest in him seems to be luke-warm at present.

''I really like Nebraska,'' he said. ''I went to their camp last summer and was very impressed with their facilities and playing surface. I have not heard much from them since the coaching change happened, but I hope to soon.''

Truelove reportedly runs a 5.0 in the 40 and benches 435 pounds. Physically reminiscent of former Vol center Scott Wells, he is the kind of guy who offsets unimposing physical gifts with hard work and determination.

''I never take a play off,'' he said. ''I always hustle and I am always prepared to play.''

A solid student, Truelove carries a 2.9 core GPA and scored a 1060 on the SAT.
