Bama back likes Tennessee

A super-productive Alabama running back plans to attend Tennessee's summer camp.

Daniel Jackson is a 5-10, 210-pounder from Bradshaw High School of Florence, Ala. Blessed with 4.6 speed ove 40 yards, he rushed 210 times for 1530 yards and 14 touchdowns as a sophomore in 2002, then carried 209 times for 1320 yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior in 2003. Tabbed the region's Offensive MVP last fall, he projects to be one of the South's top backs this fall.

His early favorite is an SEC school, but it's not the homestate Alabama Crimson Tide or the Auburn Tigers.

''It would probably be Arkansas,'' Jackson told Andrew Bone of ''I really like their style and the way they do things over there. I am also considering Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.''

Jackson attended Alabama's A-Day Game and also plans to visit the Tide's summer camp, along with Tennessee's, Auburn's, Arkansas' and Ole Miss'.

The Vols have three running backs who will be seniors in 2004 (Cedric Houston, Jabari Davis, Corey Larkins) and another (Gerald Riggs, Jr.) who will be a junior. They signed two prep backs in February -- Arian Foster of San Diego and Ja'Kouri Williams of Plaquemine, La. -- who will be freshmen this fall.
