Vols co-leader for behemoth

One of the South's biggest football prospects lists Tennessee as his co-leader.

John Jerry is a 6-6, 325-pound defensive tackle from South Panola High School in Batesville, Miss. After recording 84 tackles and 3 sacks as a junior last fall, he projects to be one of the Southeast's top prospects next fall.

Naturally, the Vols are in hot pursuit, along with schools from throughout the U.S.

''Tennessee and Ole Miss are my two favorite schools,'' Jerry told Scott Kennedy of TheInsiders.com. ''My Top 5 right now is Tennessee, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Miami and Ohio State. I went to the Ole Miss Spring Game this year.''

Jerry, who clocks 5.1 seconds in the 40-yard dash, has not decided which summer camps he'll attend. Given his high level of interest in the Vols, however, it's a good bet he'll visit Knoxville at some point in the coming months.

Tennessee has enjoyed great success recruiting defensive linemen from the Magnolia State in recent years, landing such stalwarts as Will Overstreet (Jackson), Parys Haralson (Flora) and Xavier Mitchell (Long Beach).
