Leak among grads

C.J. Leak may or may not earn Tennessee's first-team quarterback job but he earned a college degree over the weekend.

Leak, who will be a sixth-year senior this fall, was among 35 male student-athletes taking part in commencement ceremonies Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena. He took a degree in sociology.

Other notable football players who took their degrees were fullback Troy Fleming (sport management) and offensive lineman Gil Dumont (biological sciences). The graduates also included basketballers Brandon Crump (sport management) and Jon Higgins (arts & sciences) and baseballers Derek Tharpe (speed communication), Pat Hicklen (sport management), Ben Riley (sport management) and Dusty Johnson (finance).

Former Vols who took part in graduation ceremonies under the RAC program were football players Ben Talley (1991-94, urban studies), Steven Marsh (1999-2002, sociology), Jay Graham (1993-96, psychology) and Reggie Coleman (1999-01 sociology) and basketballer Fred Jenkins (1983-87 sociology).
