Wade Orr is a senior tennis player from Clarksville, Tennessee. Wade has been a first-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Wade read to kids at Dogwood Elementary School, assisted at a tennis clinic for the Boys and Girls Club of Knoxville, appeared at an event for Saving Little Hearts, and signed autographs for kids at VASF Day. As a member of SAAC, Wade has helped with the committee's Salvation Army Stuff-a-Stocking program and the Student Government Association's Adopt-a-Spot campus beautification project. Wade is a definite ace in the community.
Chris Robinson is a sophomore golfer from Memphis, Tennessee. Chris has been a first-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Chris has cooked meals for the homeless at the Love Kitchen, volunteered at the Fantasy of Trees, and read to a fifth grade class at Lonsdale Elementary School. He recently helped with a youth golf clinic at the Wee Course. As a member of SAAC, Chris has helped with the committee's Salvation Army Stuff-a-Stocking program, Special Olympics volunteer days, and the Student Government Association's Adopt-a-Spot campus beautification project. Chris has the drive to serve the community.
Senior swimmer Evan Nylander hails from Tucker Georgia. Evan has been a first-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Evan has worked with Special Olympics, mentored two children at Inskip Elementary for over 75 hours, and participated in the Salvation Army Stuff-a-Stocking program. He attended the MDA's Muscle Team Dinner, participated in April Play Day, and coordinated a swimming team Holiday Gift Basket program sponsored by Fellowship Church. He spoke to several classes at Fort Craig Elementary, has signed autographs for children at VASF Day, and was an organizer of the first Lettermen.s Networking Night. He helped organize and operate the Kids for Kid Atlanta Swim Championships which raises funds for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta from 1998-2003. Evan has definitely turned some gold medal laps in community service.
Marc Sylvester is a sophomore on the men's track team. The Cleveland, Ohio native has been active in the community since his arrival on campus. Marc has visited patients at U.T. Medical Hospital, read to children at Green Elementary and Maynard Elementary, and attended the MDA's Muscle Team Dinner. He served as a greeter at the finish line at the Race for the Cure, signed autographs for children at VASF Day and Volunteer Village, and visited the kids at the Boys and Girls Club to play and sign autographs. Marc is right on track with his accomplishments in community service.
