UT offers grants to twins

Tennessee has offered scholarships to a pair of talented twins from the Peach State.

Nick Kyles is a 6-2, 190-pound receiver. Jarvis Kyles is a 6-1, 175-pound cornerback. Both are juniors at Baldwin High of Milledgeville, Ga.

''I have been offered by Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Miami,'' Nick told Ryan Jordan of TheInsiders.com. ''I like Georgia, Florida, LSU, Clemson, and Florida State. Georgia and Florida are my leaders.''

His affection for Georgia, he says, stems from the fact ''It's real close to home and I just like the Dawgs period. I like Coach Richt, as well.''

As for Florida, he says: ''I like Florida because they throw the football. Coach Zook is a real good coach."

As for Jarvis, he was not as heavily recruited as Nick until recently but now the scholarship offers are starting to mount.

''I have offers from Tennessee, Georgia Tech and Florida,'' he said. ''Georgia is supposed to offer me this week from my coach told me.''

Jarvis said his favorites are ''Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Clemson, Auburn and Georgia Tech,'' then added that ''Georgia and Georgia Tech are my leaders.''

What does he like about the Dawgs?

''They have a really nice weightroom and a great stadium,'' he said. ''I like the atmosphere there.''

And what about the Yellow Jackets?

''I like their atmosphere there and the field,'' he said. ''It's in Georgia and it seems like a good place.''

Geography may be working against the Vols. Jarvis admits that ''I don't want to go too far from home.''
