Talented Texan likes UT

Tennessee recently offered a scholarship to one of the top tailbacks in talent-rich Texas.

Cody Glenn is a 6-1, 220-pounder from Rusk High School who ran for 2,006 yards and 27 touchdowns. He is rated the state's No. 3 tailback prospect entering his senior year.

The talented Texan is being recruited by former Baylor player/assistant Trooper Taylor, now in his first full year as Tennessee's running backs coach.

''Tennessee offering is great,'' Glenn told John Alves of TheInsiders.com. ''I'm really thinking about going out to one of there camps.''

Glenn also has scholarship offers from Brigham Young, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Arizona and Baylor. Oklahoma State is his early favorite.

''Coach (Les) Miles told me I have a chance to play early and I like that,'' Glenn said.

Glenn clocked a 4.6 in the 40-yard dash at the Nike Camp but expects to do much better at the upcoming Dallas MSL/TheInsiders Combine scheduled this weekend.

''I didn't get to run the 40 at the Nike camp the way I wanted to because of the rain,'' he said. ''I'm sure I will bust out a low-4.5 or high-4.4 at SMU. I'm looking forward to it.''

Although there's a lot of time until Signing Day of 2005, Glenn conceded that he ''may commit before the season starts..."
