''I got an offer from Clemson last week,'' Logan recently told Michael McCammon of InsideTheVille.com. ''That puts them in my list, but I didn't remove anybody. So Clemson, Louisville, Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee and Florida are my favorites right now.''
Logan recorded 60 tackles as a junior last fall, despite missing six games due to injury. He is rated the No. 24th linebacker prospect nationally by TheInsiders.com.
Logan, the younger brother of University of Kentucky redshirt freshman John Logan, is a 6-1, 210-pounder. He is cast from the same physical mold as recent Vol linebackers such as Eric Westmoreland, Eddie Moore, Omar Gaither and James Turner -- all of whom were roughly the same size when they enrolled at UT. Like these Vol backers, Logan has good speed and exceptional athleticism, including a 30-inch vertical jump.
Tennessee has recruited well in Kentucky the past few years, so the Vols have a shot at this talented backer. Their chances get even better if the homestate UK Wildcats look as inept in their subsequent games as they did in a Game 1 loss to Louisville.
Regardless, Logan is in no hurry to make a public commitment.
''I'm not sure when I will [decide],'' he said. ''I'll probably wait until after the season.''
