The homefield jinx?

Tennessee and Florida have split their last four football meetings -- Tennessee winning in 2001 and 2003 at Gainesville, Florida winning in 2000 and 2002 in Knoxville.

In a league where homefield advantage is generally worth at least 7 points, how is it that the visiting team has won the last four games between these two SEC powers?

''It's just one of those oddities that comes up,'' Vol head man Phillip Fulmer said Tuesday. ''Usually, the team that takes care of the football best and rushes best is probably more of a factor than who's home team or visiting team.''

He has a point. The team with more rushing yards has won 12 of the last 14 Vol-Gator matchups.
