Houston's back, Big Toe isn't

Tennessee tailback Cedric Houston will be available for Saturday night's game with Florida but offensive tackle Albert Toeaina will not.

Houston missed the second half of Game 1 vs. UNLV with a sprained ankle but returned to practice Monday and will be in the starting lineup against Florida, Phillip Fulmer announced Tuesday.

''He went full speed with the No. 1 offense against the No. 1 defense for about 10 plays, and did fine,'' the head man said.

Where does this leave backup tailbacks Gerald Riggs, Corey Larkins and Jabari Davis?

''They'll all play,'' Fulmer said.

Toeaina, the 6-6, 365-pound junior college transfer who suffered a severe bruise in preseason drills, is not yet ready to make his Vol debut.

''He's getting better,'' Fulmer said. ''We thought he might play this week but the doctors felt he needed another week. The original X-ray showed a really bad bruise ... very cloudy. Once it cleared up some, it showed a small fracture. In another week or so, it should be fine.

''We would never put a player at risk (by playing him when he's injured) and we certainly won't do that with him. He's got a very bright future -- here and beyond.''
