Friday Practice Report

KNOXVILLE – Tennessee went through its customary walk-through inside the Neyland-Thompson Sports Complex on Friday. Several celebrities were in attendance to observe the Vols going through their paces, too.

Country music star Kenny Chesney and former NFL offensive lineman Michael Munoz were among the bigger names around the Complex.

A group of Blue Angel fighter pilots were also on hand to take in some of the action. All of the servicemen have either been to Iraq or Afghanistan. Some are graduates of The University of Tennessee. As for the football game tomorrow against Alabama, head coach Phillip Fulmer has his hands full on the injury front with Jesse Mahelona and Cody Douglas.

"It's always concerning when you have as many (injuries) as we've experienced," Fulmer said. "We've been fortunate enough to have some other players to step up and help us as we go along. Jesse Mahelona is our best defensive lineman. I don't know whether or not he'll get to play. I doubt it."

It remains up in the air as to whether or not Douglas will make an appearance on Saturday, too. For the players that will be ready to play, it appears Fulmer is confident in their preparation.

"I think the kids have been very focused on this," Fulmer said. "It's real easy to say whatever you want. To see the kids actions in practice has been good. They know how to listen. We can't have any regrets tomorrow. We've got to play our best football."
