SEC honors Rob Smith again

Tennessee sophomore guard Rob Smith joined an elite group of Southeastern Conference performers Monday when he was named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week for a second time this year.

The Fort Thomas, Ky., native graded at 80 percent and had 10 knockdown blocks in Tennessee's 38-33 win Saturday at Vanderbilt. UT compiled 236 yards rushing against the Commodores and another 189 passing by first-time starter Rick Clausen. The 425 yards of total offense was Tennessee's highest output since the Vols gained 595 in a Sept. 25 win over Louisiana Tech.

Smith is the only Vols offensive lineman to have started every game this season and is one of just eight to earn more than one SEC player of the week honor in 2004.

Other multiple winners in the league are: DT McKinley Boykin, Mississippi; PK/P Josh Brown, South Carolina; QB Jason Campbell, Auburn; QB Chris Leak, Florida; TB Jerious Norwood, Mississippi State; DE David Pollack, Georgia; and TB Carnell Williams, Auburn.
